Slade Roofing’s story begins in 1997 when Tyler Slade, just 16 years old, got his start in the roofing industry. His older brother, a roofer, suffered a serious dirt bike accident that left him with a broken back. Unable to carry shingles himself, he hired Tyler to handle the heavy lifting. What started as a necessity quickly became a passion.
By the time Tyler was 18, he wasn’t just carrying shingles—he was selling, estimating, and installing his own roofing projects. His early years on rooftops gave him firsthand experience in the craftsmanship, dedication, and customer service required to succeed in the industry.
At 19, Tyler paused his roofing career to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Carolina. The experience strengthened his work ethic, leadership skills, and commitment to service—values that would later shape the foundation of Slade Roofing.
